Two Teens Charged With Murder

PINEVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police have charged two juveniles with murder after a sheriff’s deputy was killed when his car was rammed near the Kentucky-Tennessee-Virginia border.

Bell County Deputy Sean Pursifull was 31 years old. Pursifull and his K-9 dog, King, died early Thursday when the cruiser was struck by the teens’ car.

State police said two state troopers attempted to stop the speeding driver on the winding highway through the mostly rural, rugged Appalachian coal-mining region.

The 17-year-old driver veered over the center line of U.S. 119 and rammed into a Bell County Sheriff’s car parked beside the road.

The driver and his 16-year-old passenger were not hurt. In addition to the murder charge, they are both charged with assault on a service animal.

I hope they try him as an adult. Maybe the parents should be fined or something since they created the monsters.

  2. Amie Newlon

This is so, so sad. My heart goes out to the Officer, the dog, and their family and friends. :(

  3. Ziggy's Mom

Throw the book at them and try the little creeps as adults and make them (and their parents) pay restitution to the deceased Officer’s family. They should also bear the cost of obtaining another K9 officer for the police department. There is no excuse for this type of behavior.

  4. Nebraska Mom

This is terrible! The teen needs to be tried as an adult, his parents need to be held liable & responsible and most definately he needs to pay for a new k9 dog for the police department and definately pay restitution for the family left behind. Kids have no moral conscious anymore. To many hours spent in front of the computer & tv playing horrible games. They have no concept of what is real, nor do they have any feelings or compassion or empathy. Their parents are responsible! This is happening more and more and it’s scary.

Let them out where they WILL be dealt with
