No More Playing Dead: Dog vending machines a downtown tipping point

Saturday, November 24, 2007

The red vending machine on the Browder Street plaza between Jackson and Commerce in downtown Dallas seems odd when you first come across it. The contraption contains doggie delicacies, which makes you wonder: Do dogs really need their own vending machines these days?

When a downtown has enough dog walkers to merit a dog vending machine, that’s a good sign. When you stop and think about that machine, though, you realize it’s one of those canaries-in-the-coal-mine things.

Wow! I need to check out that vending machine next time I visit Dallas.

  2. Rod

It really seems to be a wonderful vending machine available for dogs. It really is something to check out, I would like to have a look at it when I visit Dallas.

Wow, I wish my town (Eugene, Oregon) would install one of those machines. My dog loves a walk downtown, but we get him a little smoothie, not a good, healthy dog treat each time we go. I hope more cities catch on.
