WE Television Host Peggy Bunker Battles Ex-Significant Other Over Two West Highland White Terriers, Barkley and Willis

TV host Bunker in battle with ex-boyfriend over dogs
October 8, 2007NEWARK, N.J. (AP) _ Television personality Peggy Bunker, who hosts a program to help couples move in together, is discovering one of the problems that sometimes arises if those couples break up: Who gets the pets?
Bunker, who hosts “She’s Moving In!” on the WE channel, took two West Highland white terriers with her when she moved out of the Bedminster home she shared with business executive Richard Higgs, 40, in August; she claims the dogs are hers.But Higgs says the dogs, bought in the six years he was with Bunker, are his and last week, Superior Court Judge Yolanda Ciccone ruled the pooches must be returned to him by this Friday.
Bunker, 35, who also worked as a news anchor in New York, is asking the Somerset County judge to reconsider the ruling that would force her to return Barkley and Willis.
“I raised my dogs from 8-week-old puppies, and am the sole owner on their bill of sale and registration, period,” Bunker wrote in an e-mail to The Star-Ledger of Newark that appeared in Monday’s editions. She also said she registered one of the dogs with the American Kennel Club.
Higgs, for his part, claims he paid for the dogs and that they were registered with Bedminster. He also says the dogs’ microchip identifications that are registered with the American Kennel Club are under his name.
The dogs are currently being held at an undisclosed location in Denver, Bunker’s lawyer, Krista Haley, said.

Ah, the problem of more than one person paying for the everyday expenses of the doggy. Answer to the problem…split them up…Higgs gets one and Bunker gets the other. It’s the only fair way to go.
This woman is a sociopath. The things that she has done to Mr. Higgs are unthinkable. There is SO MUCH MORE to this story than what you have printed and Ms. Bunker is not the victim. Mr. Higgs has chosen the high road. He is a class act and a generous soul and person – there is a special place in hell for this woman. Interesting that she skipped off to Colorado and was married within six months isn’t it? She had been having an affair and then to come back and do THIS? She is the definition of evil. Pure vindictive evil.
