		<description>Good article, Joy. But I agree that thyroid should be the first thing, especially if there&#039;s a pot-belly involved. Mom struggled for a year with my weight and got no where. Then my vets did a blood tests and diagnosed me with Cushing&#039;s disease. Since being on medication for over a year, I have lost ten pounds and am much happier for it!! Portion control played a role as well, though.</description>
