Miami, Florida TV Station Looking for Pet Parents with Bad Microchip Experiences

I recently reported that implanted microchips have been linked to cancer. If you have unfortunately had experience with cancer in an implanted pet and there is a suspician that the cancer was caused by the microchip, a Florida TV station wants to talk to you.

Hi-
I’m a producer for the local Fox affiliate in Miami, Florida.

We are looking into doing a story on the microchip/cancer link in animals. I noticed on this site that some say your animals died with cancer after receiving the chip. We’d like to hear your stories! We are all animal lovers here, and many of our pets have these implants.

Please contact me at 305-795-2736.
Thank you,
Janna

Well, I don’t have a death story, but I did get a pet back home, thanks to a microchip - and almost 18 months after she was stolen.

I’m personally not swayed enough by the incidental evidence I’ve seen to stop chipping. The good far, far outweighs the harm.

I know someone whose dog got an infection in the (injection) site and had to have it removed surgically. She still believes in the chip just crappy luck.

I agree with Carol above on this! I have never lost my dog but would hope their micro-chips would help me get them back.

Why so eager to stir the pot on this? anything for a story I guess….

My dog was microchipped 2 yrs ago. So far I’ve seen no adverse effects. I’ve also had a tag made that’ hangs on her collar, along with her license, that lets whoever might find her know that she has been microchipped! There are a lot of people oout there who wouldn’t think to check.
