The Washington Humane Society and The Humane Society of the United States invite you to join fellow animal lovers in the DC Metro Area—including visitors from across the nation and around the globe—for the 2nd annual Humane Society Walk for the Animals. Bring your canine friend—or walk for a pet who prefers to stay at home—and enjoy a mile-long stroll around the Washington Monument with stunning views of historic landmarks.
Tamar Geller, the Walk’s Grand Marshal, is a renowned lifecoach for dogs and New York Times bestselling author of The Loved Dog: The Playful, Nonaggressive Way to Teach Your Dog Good Behavior. Own the book or Tamar’s new DVD, Celebrate Your Dog? Bring it to the Walk for Tamar to sign!All proceeds benefit lifesaving adoption, humane education, and spay/neuter programs. EVENT DETAILS
Date: Sunday, September 23, 2007
Time: Check-in starts at 11:00 am; pre-walk activities begin at noon. The walk begins at 1:00 pm.
Place: Sylvan Theater on the National Mall, located at the corner of 15th Street and Independence Avenue SW, near the base of the Washington Monument.
Cost: Prior to 9/23, $20 registration fee for individuals; $50 for a family of 4 (no more than 2 adults ages 18 or older).
