Dog advocacy groups asks judge for harsh sentence for Vick
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Eleven dog advocacy groups asked a federal judge to send Michael Vick to prison for nearly five years when the quarterback is sentenced and to turn the property he and others used for dogfighting into a shelter for abused dogs.
The group, which includes animal rescue organizations and the National American Pit Bill Terrier Association, also said Wednesday in the filing that it wants the suspended Atlanta Falcons star to pay more than US$10 million to rehabilitate the more than 50 pit bulls seized from his property in April.U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson allowed the filing, but he won’t permit members or their lawyers to speak when he sentences Vick on Dec. 10.
Vick pleaded guilty last month to a federal dogfighting conspiracy charge, and prosecutors called for a sentence of between 12 and 18 months. Hudson, however, can impose up to the five-year maximum.

I hope the judge does give VICK 5 years in jail and no getting out until the 5 years are up. It sure would be nice if the football league would banish him forever, Maybe he could get a job cleaning up the dog poop in the parks!!!
thats a big bunch of CRAP!!!He should have a MINIMUM of 10 years. but ya know it would be different if it were the judges dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s okay, because he’s going to get what he deserves. This country loves their pooches. Especially men sitting on the couch watching the big screen with their bulldogs and big eared basset hounds rooting on their favorite team. I doubt any football team really will want to sign him on. So he’ll get what he deserves.
Remember friends, Virginia still hasn’t decided whether or not to bring up charges also…….Hopefully waiting to see if they are satisfied with what the judge gives him!
We agree with Bebop and Murphy, think It will make a big difference to his career, I think eventually people will make a difference by boycotting him or his team etc, happens over here when football or soccer players think they can get away with things!
