Eyewitness Vick Court Report From a Dogster
Thanks to Diesel Blue and furmom Fancy for the following account of Vick’s court appearance earlier today.
Hi Sol,
Just wanted to let you know that my Mom was in the courtroom this morning to hear Vick’s plea. She is going to go into detail in my Diary later, but she wanted your Mom to know some of the details.
Before he entered his plea, Judge Hudson asked him MANY times that he understood what the plea meant… loss of 5th amendment, voting rights, right to carry a fire arm, right to an appeal and the most important was that even though the prosecutors have set a sentancing guideline, he said, “I am not bound by this plea”.Vick is also to pay restitution for the care of all dogs seized from his property, and within 10 days.
He also made is clear that “You’re taking your chances here, you have to live with whatever sentance I give you.”
Vick will be back in Judge Hudson’s courtroom on December 10th at 10am.

He can’t carry a gun? They should have taken away his ability to beat, drown, hang and electrocute.
Did you see the Larry King show tonite? That defense attorney Geragos, said dogs were dumb as dirt! Can you believe that?? He needs to be put in a shelter for a while too!

Thanks for barking in. I was watching and I think he said he has two dogs and his dogs are dumb as dirt.
From what I saw, Geragos came up off as pro dog. I was very unimpressed with the supposed dog guy though. I don’t know if he was trying not to sound like a dog fan or if he just wanted to be an apologist for Vick when he said dogfighting is part of the Southern culture (I’m paraphrasing here). I’m old enough to remember when racism was defended as part of Southern culture. That wasn’t a defense then and its not a defense now.
