Way to go Nike!!!!
Notice that Nike made a point of saying they would not penalize stores that were trying to back out on their Vick orders? I wonder how many there were of those? Maybe corporations will think twice before they sign athletes if they worry that misbehavior in their personal lives could cost those same corporations in their financial lives.
Thanks to CNBC for this article.

Recently there have been a number of requests for help for dogs and cats being left behind by soldiers being deployed overseas. Here’s an answer. Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pets helps these furbabies so they can be fostered and not rehomed. Guardian Angels is also building a sanctuary in Arkansas for pets who cannot be reunited with their military pet parents.
Here is what the organization says about itself:

Noted author Jim Willis barked in this urgent alert regarding the Mason County Animal Shelter which is facing a massive euthenasia of unwanted yet healthy dogs. According to another message, the County Commissioners are not giving the shelter staff any more time. The Commissioners will be taking over the shelter very soon and putting down all but 50 dogs.
Some of you know me as the author of “How Could You?” During the years I spent in that region, this is one of hardest working shelters I’ve known, with a committed staff and volunteers, and they bent over backwards, for years, to work with other animal rescuers in order to save animals’ lives.
The same cannot be said for that county’s commissioners, who should be there right now helping to scoop poop and bathing dogs and cats, and making them better available in other venues for adoption, instead of taking the “easy” way out and condemning healthy, adoptable animals to death.
Please call all the media in the area, and if you are local and vote, please make sure these commissioners are not re-elected, and elect some animal-caring people instead.

Dogster Diesel Blue barked an eyewitness report into his buddy Sol today.
It seems that “Sick Ookie” Vick still just does not get it! If you watched CNN yesterday you would have heard one of the US’ top defense lawyers advice to Vick. He said Vick should plead out, apologize to everybody, offer a “billion” hours of community service and next year’s salary to animal protection groups. So what does Vick do? He does exactly the opposite. He publicly insults his critics.
What a piece of work! Sorry Momma Vick, but you’ve got one big failure of human on your hands there. I hope the rest of your children came out better because at this point your baby Michael is pretty worthless.
If you attended the Vick trial or protest outside the courthouse, please bark in your report. The rest of us Dogsters and Catsters are there with you in spirit! And send pictures if you’ve got ‘em!
From Diesel Blue:
Hi Sol,
Well my Mommy went to the Fed Building in Richmond yesterday with Jack’s mommy. They stood outside with their signs (she put the picture in my photo book), and as Vick was pulling away he gave them the finger. He is such an evil man. I wrote some stuff in my diary about it.
There are many good updates currently, www.inrich.com, www.msnbc.com, www.cnn.com and of course www.si.com
He will be back in court on 11/26 and my Mommy and her friends plan on being there. This time they are going to stand in line and get in the court room to listen to the trial.
Tell you Mommy thanks for all the stuff she writes!
She ROCKS!!

As expected, Michael Vick pled Not Guilty yesterday. The silly man has even requested a jury trial. The date is November 26th. Maybe he thinks he’ll be able to get off without using the excuse that its impossible to find twelve people who don’t know about the case…
Are you planning a demonstration? Do you know about a planned demonstration? If so, please bark it so we can share it!
Thanks to Jim Willis, author of animal classic Pieces of My Heart, for barking in this call for help.
