I am from Sri lanka and have been living in the states for the last 30 years. I am also from Kandy! I sent money last year, thru my family to a shelter in Kandy and hope to find more details about this when I visit next year. I love to keep you posted on this issue. 80% of Sri Lankans are Buddhists and most are vegetarians as well. Most SL try to restrain from harming animals in accordance with Buddhists teachings. More and more these storys are coming out, It sucks that we all try so hard to get dogs and other animals home's and when we think that there lives will change for the better they turn for the worse. One question I had was if this man did not know what he was doing was wrong or remorseful than why would he have to lie to the shelter to take them? Disgusting! How sad.
