Thanks to the Sunbear Squad for this week’s tip!

Watch for stray pets frightened by holiday fireworks — they may bolt through traffic or get lost.

Umm, is it ok to take you dog to a fireworks show if they are not afraid?

  2. Joy

    Penny,

I would definitely encourage you to NOT take a dog to an event that features fireworks. Even if your dog is usually pretty cool around people and can handle loud noises most of the time, the combination of huge crowds AND loud noises AND flashing lights could add up to a disaster. At the very least, your dog will just not understand why all the seeming chaos.

Do your dog a real favor and leave him home securely locked in the house with a TV or radio playing to mask outside fireworks.
