This title says it all. Doc Halligan’s What Every Pet Owner Should Know is exactly that. It’s a well written, straight-forward book that lays out the basics of pet care in a way that everyone can understand and use.

Designed for dog and cat parents, Doc Halligan’s What Every Pet Owner Should Know also goes beyond the basics addressing pet care myths and misconceptions on important topics as diverse as spay and neutering to seasonal disturbances. One especially nice addition is the list of US veterinary schools. Oftentimes, vet schools can be great sources of medical assistance for those of us with dogs or cats with special problems. I would have liked to have seen an international list as well but maybe Doc Halligan will add those in subsequent additions.

My prescription? Keep a copy of Doc Halligan’s What Every Pet Owner Should Know on your pet health shelf. Even if you’re an experienced pet parent, this book has helpful information.
