Joy

The Lazy Dog’s Guide to Enlightenment is like a Zen koan. It is sublimely simple yet almost startling in its clarity. We as humans almost seem to revel in our complexity yet as authors Andrea Hurst and Beth Wilson show, sometimes life is better understood through simplicity. Hurst and Wilson help us see through the eyes of our oftentimes wiser canine friends.

And let’s not forget Zachery Folk’s revealing and poignant photographs. His photographs reach past the two-dimensional paper into your soul, making you feel the words and the dogs behind the words.

The Lazy Dog’s Guide to Enlightenment is a lovely addition to any doglover’s book collection. Whether you want to use the messages as a way to mentally relax and touch those things that really matter in life or you simply enjoy Folk’s photos, check out this gentle book. It’s a breath of fresh air in an over-stressed, over-complicated world.
