Cynthia, you are right. I came to the same conclusion, that we can't trust these companies or the FDA to protect us or our pets. My solution (as far as the pet food situation) was to look for holistic pet food with USA ingredients that are human grade, with a veterinarian at the pet food company who is involved the quality. The link I have on my post (familypetfood.com) goes to the site with this food, as well as information about the pet food industry. The veterinarian involved is Dr Jane Bicks, she even has conference calls every week that people can ask her questions about pet nutrition or the food. Right now, this is the only food I trust.

I recently read about infant feeding bibs from China that had high levels of lead in them. Blatant use of a harmful product for their profitability margin --- the lead is used to keep the vinyl product soft... maybe we need to distance ourselves from Chinese products if their main concern is profit vs a safe product...

Well Dogsters, we should consider ourselves among the most informed pet owners on this planet. We've been stomping our feet for almost 2 months now, and although the government is too slow in responding, at least they are responding in some small way. I certainly don't want to excuse their sloth or their lies. So Dogsters, continue your vigil, ever watchful of those beautiful furbabies and keep stomping your feet. Eventually someone will listen if for no other reason than to shut us up. Thanks Dogster Blog for another eye opening report.

Well put Christine. I am so heartbroken over all this I can barely form words to speak. I am at a point where I trust no one, and nothing. I think this whole planet is corrupt, tainted, and turning putrid.

Wilbur-Ellis, ANI, FDA, And the USDA make me sick. I hope they have to answer for their behaviors, but certainly will not be holding my breath.
