Here’s what the site says about Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue, Inc.:
Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue is a nonprofit (501c3) volunteer organization, formed to help Siberian Huskies and Siberian Husky Mixes that have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or surrendered by their owners. Our goals are to place these dogs in loving homes and to educate people about the characteristics of this wonderful, yet often misunderstood, breed. To accomplish these goals and our overall mission, our network of volunteers throughout PA, MD, NJ, DE, WV and NY are involved in raising funds, transporting and fostering dogs, developing and maintaining our web site, and representing the group at events.
Dogster Nika and her human Paige brought this site to my attention. Many of Nika’s foster brothers and sisters, like Huron shown here, are also on Dogster. Check out their links on Nika’s Dogsters page. They want to invite anyone who is interested to join them in helping their beloved Huskies and Husky Mixes.:
I’d say one of the biggest things I’d love for you to highlight is the need for volunteers. A lot of folks think volunteering is just fostering. And while foster homes are always needed.. we actually need a lot of help doing things that can be done from someone’s home including: Making phone calls to check applications, returning calls, handing emails, fundraising, and online work too. There is a lot that goes into rescue that is even more than just placing dogs, it also about helping to keep people from getting the wrong breed of dog through education and helping a person who already has a dog to keep that dog by helping them to learn good positive training skills. In addition, there is also working with kids to help teach the next general of dog owners about proper dog care and about the various breeds.
