Dogster Joker Moves to Rainbow Bridge
Eddie Essig barked at me this morning to let me know the Dogster community has a new little buddy at the Rainbow Bridge. My sympathies to Joker’s family.
Hi Joy,
I’m sure you know by now, but little Joker crossed the Rainbow Bridge early this morning. I am pasting a message from Mickey (Joker’s furdad) and would be very thankful if you could post it on the blog for any Dogster who has had the privilege of knowing Joker.
And yes, Pops, we understand that even six months with a dog can change your life. It’s ot the amount of time; its the emotional connections we share.
And yes, as I read your diary entry below for Joker, my eyes are leaking with yours.
Even Angels Need Little Buddies Too!!This will be the only note i will be able to write for a minute or two.. I just got the call from the Vet.. The Angels must need a new lil buddy too.. Joker went to the bridge last night. Pop’s is crushed.. But knows that when the pain subsides there will emerge a new energy for life. Not sure just yet what, but never is there pain with out following growth.. The saddness is overwhelming, but the pure joy of having shared 6 months with Joker is so strong that the pain is at least dulled.
**Here’s the message I must Must get out.. Your Prayers were not in vain.. They were so valuable and will be in the future for any family and animal experiencing situations of any nature. I feel that even though the results didn’t end as i had, and you had hoped, that the need for this experience was valuable for each of us to go through togather. I must believe that The God of my understanding has much bigger plan for me (Pops).. and that in time i will understand.
For now Thank you for all the prayers, phone calls, candles, photo threads, Main Pictures, Rosettes, stars, Posts, Prayers, thoughts, and more that i am sure i will recognize some day soon. Keep loving one another and praying for each other and sharing the kindness that we have felt through this.. It so helps. When i got the first news of serriouse trouble I needed an understanding heart, and Dogsters were there. This is the first lil one I have shared my life with and had to go to the bridge and it hurts like things I have never experienced..
Don’t say to yourself that 6 months of sharing your heart with any living thing can’t completely change your world, because it can..
Thanks again to all of you. When I can I will try and say thanks more personally, but for now this will have to do.

Our littliest Angel – How do we all say goodby to you, I wonder and still go on with our lives.
You came to us at 7 weeks old with your little brother Rascal and we all immediately adopted you into our hearts. We watched you grow and learn the wonders of being a “big� doggie. We watched you as you captured Schnauzer Power and made it your own.
We delighted in you winning the Valentine’s Picture Contest where your kissing booth gave out free puppy breath kisses.
You were chosen DOTD today. How bittersweet it seems now. You were our DOTD everyday you were with us, beloved Joker.
You were so extra special that God gave you to us for just a short time but the impact you made on all of your pals was so huge that you truly have furever places in our hearts so that is why saying goodby is so hard.
I loved you with all my heart, little Joker and will never forget your beautiful little face kept furever young in puppyhood as you were only a little baby when you had to leave us. It makes me mad. It makes me sad. My heart is screaming in heartache. There are no end to the tears that continue to come.
I reach out my paw to Rascal, Sassy Girl, Dallas, Regena and Uncle Mickey at this time. Their grief must be beyond comprehension as I know it is on my end.
I salute my little pal as he travels to his new home at the Bridge to be met by those who will lovingly greet him and take care of him for us. May you have a safe journey, beautiful, loved boy. You might not have been on earth with us long, but you gave us something to believe in while you were here. You opened up our hearts. You taught us about puppyhood again. You gave us such joy. You united us in prayer. You bonded us all with love and made us appreciate how precious each day together is.

It is without doubt one of the saddest moments for each of us. It is without doubt that it is a moment ten times magnified for Uncle Mickey, Regena, Rascal, Dallas and Sassy Girl.
There are no words that can possibly express the grief they are feeling and what we are feeling.

I am so sorry to hear about sweet Joker. Our fur babies never live long enough, but to lose one this soon is absolutely crushing. There are no words that we can say to make any sense of this, but just know, in time, you will be able to think of sweet Joker with a smile in your heart and although the pain will never completely subside, it will lessen with time.

I think Willie has said it best, how do I express the sadness I feel right now for your whole family. How can a dog I have never met, a family I have never met mean so much? A Living Love
If you ever love an animal, there are three days in your life you will always remember . . .
The first is a day, blessed with happiness, when you bring home your young new friend. You may have spent weeks deciding on a breed. You may have asked numerous opinions of many vets, or done long research in finding a breeder. Or, perhaps in a fleeting moment, you may have just chosen that silly looking mutt in a shelter — simply because something in its eyes reached your heart. But when you bring that chosen pet home, and watch it explore, and claim its special place in your hall or front room — and when you feel it brush against you for the first time — it instills a feeling of pure love you will carry with you through the many years to come.
The second day will occur eight or nine or ten years later. It will be a day like any other. Routine and unexceptional. But, for a surprising instant, you will look at your longtime friend and see age where you once saw youth. You will see slow deliberate steps where you once saw energy. And you will see sleep when you once saw activity. So you will begin to adjust your friend’s diet — and you may add a pill or two to her food. And you may feel a growing fear deep within yourself, which bodes of a coming emptiness. And you will feel this uneasy feeling, on and off, until the third day finally arrives.
And on this day — if your friend and whatever higher being you believe in have not decided for you, then you will be faced with making a decision of your own — on behalf of your lifelong friend, and with the guidance of your own deepest Spirit. But whichever way your friend eventually leaves you — you will feel as long as a single star in the dark night.

And at moments when you least expect anything out of the ordinary to happen, you may feel something brush against your leg — very very lightly.
And looking down at the place where your dear, perhaps dearest, friend used to lie — you will remember those three significant days. The memory will most likely to be painful, and leave an ache in your heart–

As time passes the ache will come and go as if it has a life of its own. You will both reject it and it, and it may confuse you. If you reject it, it will depress you. If you embrace it, it will deepen you. Either way, it will still be an ache.
But there will be, I assure you, a fourth day when — along with the memory of your pet — and piercing through the heaviness in your heart — there will come a realization that belongs only to you. It is always very sad when such a young life gets taken away so unexpectedly like this. It just doesn’t seem fair at all to not have seen all there is to see in this world, and to not have been able to enjoy watching Joker grow up to be an even more handsome boy than he already is.

Dear Pops, We only found out recently that Joker was sick. It broke our hearts to think that he was in such dire circumstances and still only a little puppy. We prayed for him and for you, his family and siblings. Sadly our prayers were answered in a different way than we hoped. God needed a little angel in heaven. I hope that you will take some comfort in knowing that so many cared for him and for you. Thank you for the note that you left for all of us to remind us that our prayers were not in vain. We will keep praying for you and for your other furkids, especially Rascal who is looking for Joker.

Joker is now with me. I took his paw and helped him cross the bridge. He is now busy climbing trees and looking out across the vast expanse…and keeping ME busy! Thank dogness for my butterflies as they help to keep an eye on the little one. He is healed and 100% his typical little goofy self. He sends his love to all and although his time on Earth was short, he knows how much he touched the lives of his Dogster family. Pops, know that the little guy misses you and Rascal and Sassy Girl and Dallas and Regena dearly but is now going to be busy watching out for all of you as well as the little ones on Earth. Think happy thoughts whenever you see the trees…and if you spot a Mourning Cloak butterfly, chances are, it is one of Joker’s little buddies who was up there in the tree with him, sipping some tree sap while Joker was hanging on and looking out for everyone!

Little Joker will be dearly missed. Pops and family, we know how difficult this time is and can only say how sorry we are and we empathize with you. The thing that we know is that Tif and Autumn are most definitely watching out for Joker and will help to keep him out of trouble.

Many hearts were broken today with news of little Jokers passing. To be so cruelly taken away does not seem fair & we are at a loss for words. My heart is breaking for you. We lost our Max and Jack with in six months of one another. It is the most heart breaking thing to lose something that gives such unconditional love. Its been almost a year since I lost Max and five months since Jack but the loss is still deep. But it will get easier. One day you will be able to smile and laugh about the silly things again. We know and love Joker from Shih Tzu & Friends United. It hurts us to lose him so soon. But it also amazes us how such a young pup did so much, made so many friends and touched so many lives in such a short time. His Pops has to be so very proud!

What a sad day indeed cause our little Joker passed to the Rainbow Bridge. Our hearts are heavy and we so wish the out come was different. Hugs and kisses to you Rascal, you must be very confused and missing your brother. Hang in there Mickey your pain will subside slowly but your loving memories of Joker won’t fade, thats one of the wonderful things about sharing our lives with fur babies , the precious times we have with them and the wonderful memories when they leave us.

We just wanted to say that while we were not the closest of friends with Joker, we still have followed him through out his short stay here on earth. We always laughed at some of the things he did and it was always a joy to take a look at his pictures. He was still so tiny when he left us. He will be missed so much.
We didn’t get to know you Joker as we would have liked to, but we do know that you were a very special pup and you were loved so much and will be missed every day.

I know that everyone is sad that Joker couldn’t stay there on earth with you. I just wanted to say that he is at RainBow Bridge right now and is looking down on all his friends. His heart is swelling with pride at such a show of love and affection from all his friends, and even from those that didn’t really know him. He is running and playing and will forever be a pup. When you think of him, just look toward the sky and know that he is always watching you and with you in spirit.

You know my family and I love you all and that we loved Joker, too. We know he’s having all fur fun over the bridge and watching over you waiting for the fun to start all over again. Even though we’re not ready for fun yet, Joker helped us laugh and enjoy life more, and that’s the real beauty of God sharing such a precious angel with us for six months. What a great guy, that Joker! I know I’ll always love that crazy guy!

we are so sorry for your lost
Joker will be welcomed and receive angel hugs from our little guys who went to the Rainbow Bridge before him so he will be looked after well. Wolfie and Teddy will be with him and my humum’s 21 year old son, recently killed, loves pups and can help them love and care for him too as he is also there. Joker will be in good and safe hands until we can all be together again. I cry for you as I write this but hope you find solace knowing there is truly a great fun place over the Bridge.

The dogster community has suffered a terrible loss. We’re at a loss for words, (rare for us BOL!) Just know that we love you little Joker and will be here for Pops, Rascal, Dallas, Sassy and your family. What an asset you were and brightened our days with your presence. Thank you for the laughs, rosettes, pictures, cards, etc. We’ll never forget you but someday meet again.
