Eight In One Recalls Dingo(R) CHICK’N JERKY Treats for Dogs, Cats and Ferrets
At least this recall isn’t related to Chinese wheat. This press release appeared on Yahoo Finance.

Most chicken jerky treats come from China, where the avian flu is so we do not ever buy any pet food product manufactured in China.
Dingo Treats? Now they’re recalling MY Dingo treats? For the love of Pete is NOTHING sacred anymore?
My Mommy just called the info. line and my favorite treats…the Dingo Bones are completely safe! Thank goodness. We are so sorry for the other pups out there that can no longer have their Jerky treats
Try the Dingo Bones… I give them 4 Barks up!
Thanks
Benny and his Mommy (Lisa)
A heads up on Dingo Bones…my dog has been eating Dingo Bones for 6 years. On 3/18, he had all the symptoms associated with the recalled foods, but was using Purina food. He spent 2.5 days at the vet, who ran every test available. The vet thought he may have been poisoned, but that seemed very unlikely since he rarely leaves our yard. I did notice an uneaten Dingo, but thought no more about it. Now the Dingo Chicken Treats are recalled. I am going to contact United Pet Group tomorrow, since I think the Dingo could have been the cause of my dog’s problem. The vet bill was over $1,000, so be careful…
How are dingo bones not also affected? They have chicken jerky wrapped into them. Is there nothing left we can feed our pets? Let’s privatize the FDA even more and get NO protection whatsoever.
Pebbles wouldn’t eat her dinner tonite, which is very unusual. However, she ate her 2 Dingo bones w/chicken later. Then I heard on the news about the recall. I ‘m thinking the bones may be making her feel bad - guess we’ll be at the vet’s in the morning. I don’t see how the jerky can be contaminated & not the bones w/chicken.
My 5 month old baby puppy Gabby loves her chicken snacks, but they are made by ADI Pet, Inc. in Rancho, CA. Does anyone know if they are affiliated with Dingo, 8in1 or United Pet Group? (United Pet Group owns 8in1 who makes Dingo Chicken Jerky, the recalled product). All the recalled food, as far as I can tell, has come out of Canada but is sold across the USA. If you have any info, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks!
I have 4 doxies that love the beef dingo bones and need to make sure they are safe. My 4 year old Bitch is pregnant and I don’t want anything to happen to her. Please let me know if these beef bones are safe too! It is to late for the other snacks, they are eaten up already and that was at least a month ago.
I’m so glad that your company was on top of this. It’s not worth the risk of our pets which are like MY children. I buy your products in bulk. My dogs were lost this morning when they could not recieve their treats. Thank you for playing it safe.
sincerely,
Teresa mericle
THIS DOES NOT CONCERN THE RAWHIDE BONS AT ALL CORRECT?
I just spoke to a representative at the Consumer Affairs phone # listed in the websites, 800-645-5154 x4 and was told the bones are completely safe. The processing for the bones is completely different than the chicken n jerky strips.
Eddie if you type in United Pet Group and pull it up you will see that it is affiliated with Dingo and 8 in 1 and many many more companies that sell animal products. Good Luck to all of you with your pets I have started feeding my Gracie I have started boiling Gracie a big bowl of rice in the am and adding other ingredients into it you have to be careful as to the foods you add because many human foods can harm your pets health also. I learned the hard way. I did not know that grapes could cause kidney problem for your dogs and I lost my Baby Girl, Boston Terrier to that. I study up on it now.
My dog Vegas has always enjoyed Dingo Bones and has always been healthy. However, for the last two weeks I have bought him 2 Dingo Dental Bones. I just opened the second package and gave to him last Wednesday night. Friday morning and all weekend he has vomited and had bloody diarrhea uncontrollably. I called the hotline yesterday morning and they assured me that the Dingo Bones were not affected. I don’t see how they can’t be affected (the jerky part inside). He eats the Purina Indoor Complete dry food, which has not been affected, but since having the Dingo Bone, these symptoms have occured. We have an appt with our vet today. I have thrown out every piece of the Dingo bone and all of his treats….
Amy, Please let me know how your dog is… I feed my little chihuahua Brutis the Purina Indoor complete along with chicken Dingo bones… he hasn’t had any symptoms but I don’t want to take any chances. I wish you the best!

Amy, I don’t know if this might be why your dog is sick, but on another website a pet owner wrote that the dingo dental treats have wheat gluten in them. I have a package of dental treats but made by Iams and the first ingredient is wheat gluten. The dingo rawhide bones with jerky in the middle does not have any wheat gluten. Wish you & your baby the best.
EVERYONE, LOOKAT THE PACKAGE. IT’S MADE IN CHINA. WHEN ARE AMERICANS GOING TO LEARN YOU GET CRAP FROM THESE COUNTRIES THAT DO NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW ANY HEALTH OR SAFETY RULES. FROM NOW ON I AM NOT BUYING ANYTHING MADE OUTSIDE THE USA.
My two maltese love the Dingo bones and chicken jerkies, but I am throwing them out until this food scare is resolved. I have been feeding them boiled chicken breasts with rice since they were pups because I got tired of throwing away dog food that they wouldn’t eat. I also was leery of all the additives and by-products that are in dog food. I have been noticing that my dogs get loose stools after eating the jerkies but I thought it was because they ate them too often so I limited them. I am so glad every one will be aware of the potential hazards before any more dogs have to suffer.
I wish you and all your precious babies the best. I have 2 yorkies and they were eating the Dingo chicken jerky and love the stuff. My 4 yr old yorkie lost his appetite and was kinda sluggish but seems to be okay now; my 6 month old yorkie wasn’t affected but then again we only gave him very small portions. I think I’m going to follow Diana Totten’s advice and give my babies boiled chicken and rice. My sister had to take her dog to the vet (for other reasons other than the recalled dog foods) and her vet told her to place her baby on a low-fat diet consisting of “people” chicken and rice and replace the dog treats (jerky, etc.) with TLC, love, kisses and hugs. I just wish the government would understand that “dog-lovers” love our pets as children. If something happens to them, we too suffer the repercussions.
I contacted the maker of Dingo Bones on Tuesday, and they also assurred me that Dingo Bones are made by a different process, and are not affected. However, they asked that I send in a package of the bones I have, and the one my dog refused to eat when he became ill. They are going to test the products I sent. Will let you know the outcome. They also requested a statement from my vet on the symptoms Scooter had. Will keep you advised of the progress…
Hi everyone! Thanks for the kind words. I took Vegas to the vet and the vet said it was likely he had a trace of salmonella poisoning. I used to be a vet tech and gave Vegas some antibiotics (for loose stool) I had left over last Sunday night up until the time I took him to the vet. He said that if I hadn’t done that, he would’ve been really sick and listless most likely. We got a refill of the antibiotics and Vegas is doing much better. He is playing and even though his stool is a soft solid, that’s better than the previous. I also had to send in his dingo bone and package to the Dingo Brand so they can run tests on it. My vet also is sending a letter after seeing Vegas on Tuesday. Hope everyone is well!
I have never been so confused in all my 39 years of life. About 8 months ago I got my first pet ever - a darling mini-dashchund puppy named Hazel. After reading all the recall stuff, it appears I’m safe with the food I feed her, however, I’m confused on the Dingo thing. Once a week I give her a Dingo bone with “meat in the middle”. They are the white rawhide bones with red “chicken jerky meat” in the middle. Are these safe or not??? I wish the recall notices would show labels of which ones are recalled so I could figure it out easier. Thanks for your help!
Mincelle
Thanks for barking in and congratulations on adopting Hazel!
I quite understand your confusion. When I was posting the recall I went out to the web to find pictures and amazingly enough, pictures of the recall products were not on the manufacturer’s site. Hmmm.
I had some Dingo treats in my treat box (with four dogs I’ve gone well beyond a treat jar) and, even though they were not on the recall list, I threw them out. They had wheat gluten and I’m avoiding wheat gluten in any form like the plague. Maybe I’m over-reacting but I’m not taking the chance with my furbabies!
Your best bet is to hold off on anything you aren’t sure of and substitute something else that you can buy from a store with knowledgable sales staff.
But be warned that just because something is on a pet store shelf does not make it above scrutiny. Please read those packages. I almost bought some treats yesterday that came out of China. The print was buried at the very bottom and was in maybe 2 point script.
All the best barks to Hazel!
What are we to feed our four legged friends that are our family members that is safe anymore, yes and the dingo bones are my baby`s favourite treat.I am not taken any chances with any dog food .I have being feeding my dog cook chicken and beef for a while and he doesn`t n have the stomach proplems that he get`s from canned food, just thinking that our pet`s HAVE TO SUFFER because some people are out there to make the money ,and not concern about our four legged pets ,that do indeed have feeling`s to.
The dingo bones are also not safe. My dog got really sick when I gave her the dingo chicken bones. She started vomiting at 3:30 a.m.then she went outside and layed down in the grass and acted like she couldn’t move so I went and carried her into the house. Then she started to act lethargic and had an arch in her back like she was in severe pain. We called our vet and we stayed up with her all night. We all blame the chicken dingo bones. That is the only bone that she likes to snack on. She is okay now that I threw out the Dingo bones. Please throw out the Dingo bones!!!
Does anyone know if the Dingo Denta-Treats are recalled?
The only treats recalled by Dingo are the Chick’n Jerky Treats . Denta Treats and Dingo Bones have not been recalled.
Hopefully, everyone’s pets will end up safe and we will all e vigilent of the manufacturers to use greater safety measures in making food for our dogs.
Rick Schick - rawhide bones are made in accordance to USDA requirements you psycho - do your research before you “caps lock” everyone about something you don’t know about.
Perhaps Ben was looking at a different product. Meanwhile let’s all avoid “cap locking” and calling other commenters names.
I know we’re all very upset about this recall but let’s try to bite the people who need it — those responsible for buying and marketing the bad products.
Remember, play nice and everybody gets cookies! (That always works with my “kids”)
I hope old Roy is not efected by the poisoin i feed them to my dogs and they are a year old and i dont want to lose them i love them to death and it would be really hard to let them go i hope not i really dont want to lose them i lost a dog already when i went outside to feed her she was hangging there on my fence and it was hard to let go i cryed for months after that and my sister was crying for a year after that and now i still remmember that time and now i dont have my dogs on a lesh and they are in a fense i love them….bye
Jen
Please check the other recall posts! Ol Roy biscuits are affected!
I have 4 dogs including 2 mini doxie,1 lab,1 husky. One of my doxies started eating grass, didnt want to touch her stomach, bloody mucas stools, yellow vomit and fever. I treat my dogs as my children so they receive a dingo bone for each every other day. I took my doxie to vet and she is currently being treated with belladona and antibotic because he isn’t sure if it is poisining. She seems to be feeling better on chicken, rice, and baby food. I will visiting the vet again this week. So I am afraid of everything, and taking no chances.
My dogs love Dingo bones. Walgreen recently had them half price so I bought tons. All three dogs had the bones and two vomited the next day and the other along with one of the vomiting dogs hafd diarehha. Stupidly I did not associate this with the bones as they have always been safe and gave 2 of the three dogs another one the next day. These dogs then became ill again. One of them appears to have blood in their stoll with cingo bone in it and is violently throwing up!
I just had two of our 4 dogs sick yesterday after having Dingo bones. The throwing up, one with yellow vomit after all the bone came out. I also bought a TON of dingo bones 1/3 off on special at Walgreens and am ready to toss them all. Our dogs get 2 bones a day normally (only Dingos). Today our one dog won’t go near the bones (just barks at it) and he wasn’tr even the one who got sick. At 10.99 a bag on sale I guess I’ll see if Walgreens will take them back. The bags are specially marked by the manufaturer for the sale, not by Walgreens. The bone also smell like chemicals. I don’t know… just adding my story!
I had been giving my dogs Dingo bones for years. Around March they started having diarrhea. I would go to the vet and they had to give them flagyl and it would clear up and then come back. I finally went for 2 months without diarrhea and not giving them any bones. Then I gave them the dingos again and it was right back. I then noticed the Dingos were made in China and put 2 and 2 together. I feel really bad because they love the bones but now after reading these messages, I’m convinced it is the bones. Don’t take any chances, throw away the bones.
