Cats are obligate carnivores that need meat to survive, not cereals loaded with additives, chemicals and preservatives. The PFI makes huge profits by dumping corn, what, soy and rice into kibble products. This has absolutely nothing to do with our pet's health. It is ALL junk food. Kibble is garbage, period. I give my black lab Nutro hard food...has anyone heard anything about it...the kibbles/hard food? How can it not be contaminated if it is made at the same plant? I always had my own doubts about Royal Canin. Sadly, it seems to be just another company that flaunts its kibble as so wonderful, and they even have a Veterinary Prescription Diet, which, in reality, is truly a better choice brand-wise than SD or Eukanuba. They give fancy names to their kibbles, such as breed-specific needs and such. But really, it all comes down to ingredients. Roya Canin, in my opinion, uses too much wheat and ground rice. Cooked brown rice is wonderful, but ground rice...well, why?? Once again, I urge all pawrents to do their own research in to home-cooked diets of meat, rice, veggies, and fruits.
