Late Winter Complaint — Poetry by Angus the Warrior
Joy

Angus the Warrior.jpg

I was reading through the selection of excellent poems in the Pet Poetry Group and came across this one by Angus the Warrior. It seems to sum up how most of us are feeling about now as we see Spring trying to break through the last of Winter.

Excellent work Angus!

Late Winter Complaint

Old man winter,
Go away!
We don’t need another
Frigid day

Take your duplicitous groundhog
Hunkered in the meadow
Who told us tales
About not seeing his shadow

Where are the birds
And pretty flowers?
Long is the wait
Counting days and hours

‘Til spring doth bring
The happy sun
And worms to fling
For everyone
