N.J. Town to Set Time Limit on Barking
CLIFTON, N.J. — The city of Clifton is not going to the dogs. At least not if the City Council has anything to do about it. Later this month, the council is expected to introduce an ordinance setting a limit on how long dogs can bark.
Noisy canines will be defined as those that bark for more than 30 minutes on two consecutive days.

Judge: Dog Simba must stay out of school
BY CARL MACGOWAN AND JOHN VALENTI
A federal judge ruled Tuesday afternoon that as long as John Cave Jr. is a student at an East Meadow high school, his service dog, Simba, will have to remain home for now.
Saying that the 14-year-old boy and his family had “failed to exhaust” all their appeals with the East Meadow School District, U.S. District Court Judge Arthur D. Spatt said Simba is not allowed to accompany his owner to classes at W. Tresper Clarke High School because the dog could be “disruptive and counterproductive” to the educational process.

Oh, give us all a break! Babineaux’s lawyer wants to claim this guy was turning the dog around in circles to calm him down!
Its time for good men to stand up and say, “Real men don’t abuse animals!”
And catch the last line in the article where the NFL official suggests that Babineaux donate money next season for every tackle he makes! Is this guy kidding or just insanely stupid?! Now you know I don’t encourage anyone to yell “poopyhead” when discussing other people but COME ON! Make a donation? This lug didn’t walk out of a convenience store with a stolen pack of gum. He killed another creature and could very easily have killed his girlfriend! And for that you want to have him “make a donation!?” The only way I would go for that is if the donation includes his whole salary, without worrying about tackles. Tell big, bad Babineaux he can work for the whole season to benefit homeless and abused pets! How about that deal?
Thanks to the New York Times for this article that keeps the spotlight on this heinous crime!
Death of a Dog May Be Latest Mess for N.F.L.
By JUDY BATTISTA
Perhaps after the autopsy report is released this week, the police will have a better idea whether Jonathan Babineaux, a defensive tackle who just finished his second season with the Atlanta Falcons, represents the latest — and oddest — of National Football League miscreants: dog killer.

This is a big wow! An American soldier stationed in Afghanistan has barked in asking for help finding information and pictures about a camp canine angel, Cherry. If you can help Kim out by sharing pictures or stories about Cherry, please bark in!
Sometimes I have to report bad dog news coming out of the war zones. I’m very glad to have the chance to share this story with Dogsters and Catsters!
Please crosspost this article so that Kim can have the best chance of getting the most information on Cherry!
And Kim, please send in a picture of two of Cherry when you get them. I know we are all anxious to see the dog who won the heart of the camp.
Update– thanks to Major Kim for sending is a picture of Cherry!

Hello, I am stationed in Afghanistan and we use to have a camp dog here. This puppy had lived here almost his entire life. He ended up here as a little fur ball one day back in 2003 as the soldiers came back here off patrol and they looked behind them as they went in the front gate and there was this little fur ball walking right behind them into the gate! The soldiers had been
taking care of him ever since and soldiers have come and gone from Afghanistan, but Cherry had remained. He never left since he walked in the gate three years and some odd months ago.
