American Soldiers Film Themselves Throwing Rocks at Defenseless, Deformed Dog
I can only hope that it is the cruelty of war that has made these young men participate in such an evil act! This behavior is guaranteed to make all Americans look bad! I know there are many good men and women, including Dogsters, based overseas. If I were them, I would want these miscreants identified and punished to remove any possible taint to the well-meaning soldiers.
Thanks to Dogster Kenyon for barking this in to President Isabel’s Animal Abuse Commission.
Please be aware that this is a very upsetting video!
This absolutely makes me sick to my stomach. This is a link to a very disturbing video of soldiers throwing rocks and taunting a very pitiful deformed dog.Follow this link to the video.
What sorry excuses for soldiers these guys are. Surely something can be done to bust these guys.
I absolutely hope you’re right!
Update — Here is a link to The Petition Site petition if you wish to sign the petition asking the US Army to investigate the matter and asking them what they plan to do.
From the petition:
WHETHER YOU SUPPORT THE MILITARY OR NOT, PLEASE VOICE YOUR OUTRAGE AT THE HEINUOUS DISPLAY OF CRUELTY CAPTURED ON VIDEO OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE 3 U.S. SOLDIERS, ONE HOLDING A VIDEO CAMERA AND TWO THROWING ROCKS AT A CRIPPLED, DEFENSELESS DOG.

They should be ashamed and at the end the one ask if they should go kill it! No excuses in my eyes for that behavior.
So very sad that anyone, especially a soldier who should know the value of life, would stoop to this level. Don’t hate me for this, but actually they should have shot the poor pitiful thing to put it out of its misery instead of taunting it. I’m certain that vet care is virtually non-existant in Iraq, but to get enjoyment from an animal’s suffering is unbelievably cruel. I reported this to the ASPCA. It’s the only thing I knew to do.
Here’s a copy of the response I received from the ASPCA:
“Thank you for your email. While the ASPCA is a national organization in many respects, by law, our powers to enforce animal cruelty statutes are limited to the State of New York. We are very interested, however, in
helping to ensure that acts of animal cruelty and neglect are addressed across the country.

Okay it is my understanding that these are or were american soliders doing this ? If so this video tape should be sent to the department of defense and these men should be punished the same as any other person who abuses animals . To begin with who found these men fit for military service comes into question. This is horrible . I know there are alot of pressures during war time but there is no excuse for this . Should not be excused or allowed Please somebody send this tape to the dept of defense and let them handle it and let them know that it will be kept up on so as to not let the military sweep it under the rug. I am outraged at this .
In a war..nobody wins..except the people perpetuating the war….. ! Innocent people, children, creatures of God… are killed…..but those that stand to profit will win at the expense of those that cannot speak/ or beg for help!
Shame!
A Quote: The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated….I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by people from the cruelty of human kind. ~ Mahatma Ghandi

That video was very hard to watch. Throwing rocks at a poor defenseless dog that was obviously in pain makes me sick. I am proud of all of our soldiers who risk their lives so we can live free but obviously the ones in the video do not know right from wrong when it comes to the treatment of a defenseless dog. I hope that dog did not suffer much.
Outrage doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this. If I were to really describe how I feel about this whole situation I’d be banned from Dogster forever!
In the video you overhear one of these idiots talking about the dog as being “the funniest thing he’s ever seen”. Well my comment on that is when he is deformed because an explosive went off near his vehicle while he is on patrol and he becomes deformed because of war will he think that’s the funniest thing he’s ever seen then?
I just emailed the Dept of Defense and I suggest that everyone who reads this topic do the same! I’m not sure they will respond to each and everyone of us but maybe if enough people complain then something can and WILL get done about it.

There’s the link to the Dept. of Defense. So get busy Dogsters and let’s make this situation right!
Sorry guys! That page I linked you to takes you the FAQ’S but if you look at the top of the page you’ll see some little “tabs” and one of those “tabs” is marked “Questions and Comments” click on that link and that takes you to a page where you can leave your questions and comments on this situation.
Please write in to the Dept of Defense at the link above! Letters from concerned citizens DO make a difference. The more of us that write in to leave our comments, the more likely that action will be taken against these soldiers.
My human has the utmost respect for our honorable soldiers and veterans and the huge sacrifices they and their families make for our freedom. We have 3 family members who have just returned from Iraq within the last couple of months, and we’re well aware of the stress and harsh living conditions the soldiers deal with on a day-to-day basis. That being said, there is absolutely no excuse for the behavior exhibited by the men in this video. Mom says she’d bet you a “horse and a hundred dollars” that their fellow soldiers wouldn’t want these guys watching their backs if they saw this video!
Below is the response my mom received from WSPA, which is the organization the ASPCA referred her to.
Thanks, Kenyon and Cinnamon

Geesh…more bad news out of Iraq. I fear that if our news media and those that film and distribute these kinds of video continue, American will have a bad name for a very long time. It is the evil like these soldiers display that shames us. We must remember there IS good news to be broadcast, but the news media chooses to show the bad news more often than the good news.
Can’t blame this one on the news media (although they are the usual suspects.) These particular soldiers did it all by themselves: the deed, the recording and the posting on liveleak.com.
And they thought it was FUNNY to boot.
From time to time, there really is good news, but not this time. Their shame is no reflection on me, you or good soldiers. They alone carry their shame.
Kenyon’s mom… Thanks for the link to the US Senators and Representatives. So far I have emailed both my state Senators and will get on the list of Representatives sometime soon (hopefully this weekend when I have time). Florida has so many Reps that it’s unreal but I’ll make time to email them all just to get the word out about this. People should use the power of the written word to speak for this poor dog that can not speak for itself. I’m still outraged at this!
If the American government can prosecute those in the Gitmo abuse scandal then they can pull the pictures of the two soldiers off that video and find them and prosecute them as well for animal abuse.
These two are a disgrace to their uniforms and need to be charged with animal cruelty.
I mentioned this video to my husband who is active duty in the US military and whether or not they could face charges for their conduct–he thinks they could. I wish I could tell which branch they belong to so I could send this to the Judge Advocate General’s office of the appropriate branch
I was sickened by watching that video! It was unspeakabley cruel! I have followed the link to the Department of Defense and provided them with the link to the video, and begged that the soldiers in it be found and prosecuted! I hope everyone else who reads this story and watches the video does the same! If the get bombarded with complaints, they will have to do something!
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse it does. Last night after reading this article and then searching the internet about animal abuse I came across a very graphic site. As I looked at that site and was scrolling down looking at the things that humans do to animals I came across another video that made me even madder than I already was.
It involved yet again more American soldiers but this time they shot an INNOCENT dog at least 5 times and then remarked about how the dog wouldn’t die. It has become unreal what people will do. I understand that these soldiers are trained to kill in order to save their own lives but where is the justice for those that they kill that meant them no harm to begin with?
here is the link to the other video that is out there of us troops killing a dog . they shot it 5 times and commented how it just wouldn’t die. I am sickened

Thanks Michele…. I had been looking for a better link to that video. The one link I found was to website that sent me back to LiveLeak.com and from there I had to search videos and never did find the original video of the dog being shot to death.
Most of the people in our military are some of the bravest individuals on this Earth. However everyone involved in this is thoroughly disgusting. Do we know for a fact they did not wind up shooting the dog anyways? They need to be punished and removed from our great military.
You wonder why the world hates us.
I hope those guys to die in the most painfull way.
