“Abandon It Like Beckham” – Posh Urges Becks To Ditch Rottweilers

Victoria Beckham is urging megastar husband David to ditch their Rottweilers after two recent tragedies involving dog attacks on small children. The former Spice Girl has fears that their dogs, one of whom is called Snoop after the rap star, may harm the Beckham children, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

Former England captain David is standing his ground however, saying that the dogs, who her refers to as his “little fellas” are there to protect the family, not harm them.

Victoria, who friends claim has always been wary of dogs, has pleaded with David to get rid of the dogs, but David is adamant that the dogs will stay as they are part of the family.

The most recently publicised dog attack in the UK took place on New Years Day. Ellie Lawrenson was killed by her uncle’s Pit Bull Terrier at her Grandmother’s home in St Helens, Merseyside.

Since the attack, media reports have heightened public fears about many dogs, including Rottweilers and Pit Bulls.

The government minister who introduced the Dangerous Dogs Act has called for Rottweilers and ‘Alsatians’ to be added to the list of breeds required to wear a muzzle when in public. Many have slammed his comments as “uninformed”, “ridiculous” and “impractical” but nevertheless his comments have added to the general public hysteria surrounding guardian breeds such as the Beckham’s Rottweilers.

This is so ridiculous. When my youngest son was a toddler, he stayed at a babysitter for daycare. Their miniature poodle use to bit me all the time. It must have bitten me 5 or 6 times on the legs. Perhaps we should now gather up and put to sleep all miniature poodles. This one never got walked or exercised, but regardless, it must mean the breed is bad. Oh, and I got bitten by a hamster we kept for a pet at work, I think that we had better euthanize all rodents as well, oh and my son’s large goldfish once jumped up and bit him when he was cleaning the tank, so lets get rid of goldfish as well.

Keep the Rottweilers and ditch dim-witted Victoria.

Sounds like Mrs. Beckham has swallowed the media and political hysteria hook, line and sinker. If a UK anti-BSL group could reach her with information and reason, they might be able to educate her and get a celebrity spokesperson. Good for David Beckham for standing his ground on the dogs…but if I were him, I’d keep them away from his wife. Never know what a freaked-out person will do.

Afterthought…if David Beckham wants these dogs to protect his family, I hope he is a responsible dog owner – train, socialize and contain.
