Serena Williams’ Pit Bull Accused of “Nipping” Guard

Bambi

I’m glad the guard wasn’t hurt.

I won’t say too much about this except that I seriously doubt that guard was in any grave danger. Large dogs who WANT to be aggressive can when they feel that it is appropriate. I suspect that the Pit Bull was either playing with the guard or felt that he needed a warning to stay away from the Maltese.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. –A pit bull registered to tennis star Serena Williams allegedly nipped at a security guard’s buttocks outside her home.

The guard was not injured, because a wallet in his pocket protecting him from the bite last week, according to a Palm Beach Gardens police incident report.

The incident occurred Friday night when the 5-year-old tan pit bull, Bambi, and a white Maltese were roaming around a guardhouse near Williams’ home, the report said.

The guard traced the dogs back to Williams’ home using a phone number listed on the Maltese’s dog tag. Williams later told police the dogs got loose after she let them out and that she owned the Maltese, but not the pit bull, the report said.

Williams told police she was watching the dog for a friend, the report said.

The dog is registered to Williams, Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control assistant director Dennis Yeskey told The Palm Beach Post. Animal control did not have records of Williams owning a Maltese

Williams’ Web site shows two photographs of a tan pit bull named Bambi. A spokeswoman for Williams declined to comment.

I’m glad he wasn’t hurt but a nip isn’t much. Saying he was “protected” by his wallet is silly. Its just that it was the ‘bad pit bull” got him that it was reported at all. Had the maltese nipped him or even bit him hard, no one would have heard about it. It is also so sad that she is acting ashamed of owning her dog.

Hah! Poor guard!! I have a “bad” English Springer Spaniel that “NIPS” my behind everytime I walk through the house!! Hah!! I bet this guard doesn’t own a dog!
