The best purebred dogs in the ENTIRE country will compete amongst each other under one roof. This year over 4,000 canines have been invited and the stakes are high! These canines will strut their stuff for over $225,000 in cash prices, as well as for the National Champion title. Last year Ron Reagan hosted, as did dog show veteran Lee Arnold and renowned dog show judge
Edd Biven. The winners’ gift baskets are truly amazing this year, as each retails for over $1580. They are packed high with the hottest in canine must-haves, from custom-made dog collars from Pup-Pup Designs that retail for $125 to the most stylish dog carriers from Trixie & Peanut that retail for $149. The Best In Show winner not only receives all the gifts awarded to the other
winners, butalso a Sniffany bed that retails for $279 from Haute Diggity Dog, a funky pet stroller from PetZip that retails for $200, amongst other items that bring the total retail value of this utmost prestigious gift basket to over $2580.Don’t forget to tune in on the 2nd & 3rd!!!!

Miss Ginger is competing for her 28th OTCH Title in the AKC National Obedience Invitational on the same dates. Obedience is not aired, nor is much of the agility. We hope to do extremely well!
Best of luck to you both! Sounds like Miss Ginger has a lot of experience in winning at obedience!
The AKC/Eukanuba National Championship took place this weekend and aired live on both Saturday and Sunday, December 2nd and 3rd, on Animal Planet and Discovery Channel at 8 PM ET. The best purebred dogs in the ENTIRE country made it out to Long Beach, CA where they strutted their stuff in front of a VERY selective judging committee.
The winning pups received gift baskets care of Animal Planet that retailed for over $1580! Even Hollywood’s most demanding and high maintainence celebs would have been impressed with the products in these baskets - from Bitch New York’s Pooch Puppy Perfume (retail value: $50) to Goodman Gries’ Custom-made doggie I.D. tags (retail value: $95) and also X-O Odor’s three bottle set of all-natural Odor Neutralizer (retail value: $85) and Pet Fly’s Doggie Airline Safe Pet Carriers (retail value: $180).
These canines went home in style thanks to these vendors and more!
The sad thing is that the euthanasia rate in Long Beach is BIG. There are so many wonderful dogs getting put to sleep or dying on the streets
It is ironic that while these show dogs are pampered and receive so much attention, loving pups both mixed and purebred are getting dumped on the streets of Long Beach, languishing in animal control, and just getting put to slep.
Anonymous little lives gone forever
Why oh why can’t the AKC get involved in helping all dogs and in fighting abuse and cruelty?
