They will be selling signed copies of The Dogs Who Found Me on their website with 50% of the proceeds going to their work with pit bull rescue groups across the country. Orders must be placed by 12/10 to assure holiday delivery.

He’s currently an executive producer at Heyday Films, a division of Warner Brothers, where he worked on “Harry Potter” and “Threshold.” Before that he ran Landscape Films and Lynda Obst Productions where he worked on “How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days” and “The Siege.” He is also a seasoned animal rescuer having fostered over 200 animals in the last several years. On December 1st he is sponsoring Operation Doggy Drop, a benefit for the animals that made it through Katrina. Several B-list celebrities have already RSVPd including Jessica Biel, Christina Applegate, Peter Dinklage and Sinbad, which led us to pose the question: Why do celebrities love dogs?

Isn’t it interesting that the insurance firms say they should be able to charge homeowners more for having dogs yet it is now proven that 1) dogs are one of the best security alarms and protections that anyone can have and 2) having dogs prolongs healthy life! So if insurance companies can charge us more for having dogs then they should also have to charge doglovers less on health and life insurance.
Bottom line — it looks like the insurance companies are just looking for ways to make up on their horrendous losses from Katrina and bad investing!

Of an estimated 38,000 households in Wilson County last year, close to 14,000 owned a dog.
The number has been steadily climbing as more people move in, bringing their pets. Scores of pups end up on streets, lost or abandoned. If they get picked up by a county animal-control officer and have a known owner, they have five days to be brought home. If they are not known to have an owner, they get three days.
