South African Man Fakes Letter From Local SPCA to Quiet Barking Dog
Joy

I’ve heard of being driven to distraction and being driven to drink but this is the first time I’ve heard of being driven to fraud!

This article comes from IAfrica.com.

Barking dog drives man to fraud

An irritated Linksfield, Johannesburg, resident appears to have been driven to faking a NSPCA letter to silence a neighbour’s barking dog, the council said on Thursday.

“It’s possibly a dispute between neighbours,” said Christine Kuch, spokesperson of the National Council of SPCAs.

“Somebody is being driven nuts by this dog.”

The fake letter that surfaced in Linksfield is dated August 14, with the heading, “Incident Report”.

It reads: “Dear sir/Dear madam, It has been observed that a dog on your premises has been barking continually day and night. It seems the occupants, your selves (sic) are not at home.”

Printed at the bottom of the notice is the name “Corlia, local SPCA representative (Gauteng)”.

Kuch said there was no Gauteng SPCA and no Corlia known to the council.

So, I suppose they silenced the sleepless neighbor and didn’t silence the barking dog?

I’ve always wondered why barking dogs don’t seem to bother the irresponsible pet owner. Meanwhile, the neighbors live a very disturbed life!
