From Little Bit’s bosses:
Little Bit, the good dog.
Little Bit found us at the Charlottesville SPCA the summer of 1997 and it didn’t take long for her to have us wrapped around her little dew claw. From the start, she was incredibly expressive and we never had to guess what she was thinking because she could plainly tell us. We never knew her pedigree but in our hearts we knew she was a Mule Terrier because she was just about the most stubborn little mutt we could imagine. She knew that she could get her way if only she were persistent enough. And it was her persistence that helped her to form so many good friendships. Truly, to know Little Bit was to love her.
Although she had more than her fair share of health issues, it wasn’t until her diagnosis with lymphosarcoma in December, 2004 that we began to chronicle her life in a diary. Soon after, we joined the Dogster community and with her optimistic attitude, she began to build friendships all around the world. It continues to amaze us how her story has inspired so many and it makes us so happy to hear when someone writes to say that her story encouraged them to give chemotherapy a try for their pet.
After fighting her battle for more than 20 months, Little Bit passed away August 27, 2006. She was such a special dog. She was one of a kind and we were blessed to share our lives with her. - Mike & Robin
And Larry’s comments:
I received many requests to draw Little Bit since she passed on. She and her family have many, many loving friends on Dogster. My usaul reply to submissions these days is that I can’t promise I’ll get to your dog - but I had to make an exception here. Not only was Little Bit a “rock star” over at Dogster, but Mike & Robin had some awesome photos for me to chose from. The overwhelming support they have received has been amazing. Here’s to you, Little Bit.

It is a great drawing and so great that all of these dogsters wrote in to Larry and requested that this be done. It is such an amazing thing, that this one little dog could affect us so much and in so many ways. LB’s expressive nature was captured brilliantly In Larry M’s drawing. Thanks to everyone who helped this happen. We miss you Little Bit!!
