Sleepover Rover

Joy

What an innovative idea! Check out this new service. Petaholica just profiled it and it sounded so interesting I just had to pass it on!

Dog Swap!

With summer comes anticipation of all the great trips you have planned or would like to take. But not all are pet friendly and just wouldn’t make sense logistically to bring the pet. Don’t want to leave your little one in a kennel, what to do?

Sleepover Rover is an alternative to putting your dog in a kennel. Founded by Tina a former vet hospital manager. She finds a number of host families in specific cities (currently Phx, LV, Des Moines, Tucson, LA & SD)

These host families have been screened and their homes thoroughly inspected, prospective clients get a phone interview with the possible sitter for their pet. All hosts are home full time either stay at home moms or work from home.

Here’s what it says on the Sleepover Rover site:

Welcome to Sleepover Rover®

Never again will you feel guilty when you need to be away from your dog! Our clients leave with peace of mind knowing that their beloved canine companion is a welcomed guest in the home of a trusted animal lover who truly cares for the welfare and happiness of their pet.

We have certified hosts located throughout the greater metropolitan areas of the cities in which we operate. All our certified host families are home full time and all have pet safe yards. Call us to learn more about our certified hosts in your neighborhood!

According to the site, dogs can stay in a day camp, overnight or even for longer times depending on what’s needed.

Have any Dogsters tried out this service yet? If so, bark in and give us yor dog’s eye view of it!

    Hi April

Thanks for barking in. I checked the Sleepover Rover site and saw three other AZ cities. You might want to contact them directly and ask. They may have some new sites coming up soon.
