Its anniversary time for those affected by Katrina and Dogster has many in that group. Mo and Maddie were rescued after Katrina and found loving homes in the American Northwest. The Seattle Times, in an atempt to look for a silver lining to that horrible time, profiled Mo and Maddie and some other Katrina dogs in their area.

Pasado’s Safe Haven, an animal-welfare group based in Sultan, rescued 1,200 animals from the Gulf Coast. Some were reunited with their owners; others went on to new families that nursed them back to health. Some 250 of these pets (probably many more) now live in Washington.

Is this the new Greenie? Henry barked in about an IAMS product. Has anyone else had any problems with Tarter Treats?

Hello,

My adorable Yorkshire Terrier, Ziggy, ate a Tartar Treats (to clean teeth) from the dog company IAMS and began vomiting a few hours later. I believe now that a Tartar Treat was stuck in his small intestine. We have had three visits to the vet and many tests to find out why he has been vomiting for the last month but to no avail. An ultrasound finally confirmed a blockage and our dog had it removed 5 days ago by surgery. Because of this blockage he had to have his gall bladder removed.

Is this some sort of new doggie scheme or group initiation we don’t know about? It seems like every week another dog jumps off a cliff, especially in the UK. What’s going on over there UK Dogsters?

A dog has survived a 100ft fall down cliffs in Whitby and escaped unscathed, to the amazement of rescuers.
Elmo, a Staffordshire terrier from Sheffield, ran off the edge of cliffs at Saltwick Nabb on Tuesday morning and plunged out of sight of his owners.

Bad news for one St. Louis rescue group (and the pets they save)! Gateway Pet Guardians, one of the smaller but very agile rescue groups working in the St. Louis area was robbed a few days ago. Here’s the message I got from one of their supporters, Amy Pizano.
